These are the foundational, instrumental sciences. Without mastery of these, a student cannot independently access, understand, or correctly interpret the primary sources of our faith. They are the essential keys that unlock the doors to the Qur'an and the Sunnah.
Once the student possesses the tools, they can delve into the core disciplines that form the heart of Islamic knowledge. These are the sciences of 'what' we believe and 'how' we practice.
Knowledge is a light placed in the heart, and that heart must be a clean vessel. This category is dedicated to the inner dimension of Islamβthe purification of the soul, the beautification of character, and the development of a profound, personal connection with Allah. This is what transforms a student into a true spiritual guide.
Finally, the knowledge and character developed must be channeled into effective service and leadership within the community. An Imam is a public figure, a teacher, a counselor, and a caller to Allah. These courses equip him for that role.
